Little Rock Film Festival announces 2013 World Shorts Competition Lineup

  The 7th Annual Little Rock Film Festival is pleased to announce the following selection of 34 short films from around the world at the 2013 LRFF World Shorts competition. “This year’s shorts submissions have been absolutely amazing and nearly impossible to narrow down. The shorts we’re showing, narratives and documentaries, run the gamut of emotion and should have a profound affect on every viewer” Justin Nickels, LRFF Shorts Programmer.              The LRFF 2013 World Shorts line-up includes films from more than 7 countries including Brazil, Canada, Sweden, Singapore, Mexico, Switzerland, Denmark and the USA. All films are Arkansas premiers. A documentary or narrative not more than 40 minutes long, films in the World Shorts category compete for the Best Short Film Award and many are eligible for the Oxford American Best Southern Film and the Heifer International Best Humanitarian Film.   The 34 films in the World Shorts Competition lineup are:   #PostModem – directed by Jillian Mayer and Lucas Leyva Two Miami girls and how they deal with the technological singularity.   113 Degrees – directed by Sabrina Doyle A fable of love, sacrifice and spaceships.   A Cidade – directed by Liliana Sulzbach The daily life of the dwellers of a micro town in the the south of Brazil which is about to vanish.   An American Mosque – directed by David Washburn An American Mosque follows a group of Muslim farmers in Yuba City, California, as they struggle to build their local mosque only to see it destroyed by arson. LRFF2013 Passes are now available

We promised you earlier this year that we are planning BIG things for LRFF2013. We kept our promise! To begin with we have organized bigger screening venues with nearly double the seating capacity than before (venues TBA at the press conference in early April), so you could have a GREAT movie going experience and so we have a larger awesome audience to interact with! The LRFF2013 passes and tickets are now on sale. Visit out Box Office section for more details on the pass structure and to make an online purchase. Passes are a great way to enjoy the Little Rock Film Festival. LRFF2013 offers you three different options to choose from: Gold (All Access) – $300, Silver (Films, Parties and Panels)- $150 and Bronze (Films) – $50. Individual tickets to the Opening Night Film and Party – $25 and to the Arkansas Times Awards Gala at the Clinton Presidential Library – $75 are also available. Non- pass holders will need to buy a ticket in advance to ensure a seat to the Opening Night Film and Party. This year at the LRFF2013, we have planned short musical performances, showcasing budding Arkansas talent, to play 20 minutes before select screenings which I hear are not to be missed. We will begin seating 25 minutes prior to the event/screening and we recommend that you show up at least 35-40 minutes prior to an event/film screening to reserve your seat.
