LRFF2014 Announces Golden Rock Documentary Competition Lineup

The 2014 Golden Rock Documentary Competition is the most diverse and challenging in our festival’s history. Among the selections this year are the Sundance Grand Prize winner Rich Hill; The Sundance Best Director winner The Case Against 8; and the Libyan War based Point and Shoot from Academy Award nominated director Marshall Curry.  This year the LRFF will be one of the first festivals in the country to award a special jury prize for “Cinematic Non-Fiction”. Guest programmer, critic and filmmaker Robert Greene, has put together a lineup of films from around the World that are pushing the boundaries of the documentary form. Selections from the program include the Sundance Jury Prize Winner The Overnighters, and Manakamana, the latest film out of the Harvard Sensory Ethnography lab that produced last year’s Leviathan. LRFF2014 Announces Closing Night Film: Devil’s Knot

The Little Rock Film Festival 2014 is proud to announce it's Closing Night Film: Devil's Knot Directed by Academy Award® nominee Atom Egoyan and starring Resse Witherspoon and Colin Firth, Devil's Knot is based on the nonfiction book about the West Memphis 3 trial by award-winning Arkansas author Mara Leveritt. LRFF2014 Announces World Shorts Competition Lineup

Today the Little Rock Film Festival announces the line-up in an expanded World Shorts Competition. Long one of the festival's most popular sections utilizing alternative venues; the 2014 competition curated by LRFF Programmer Justin Nickels, moves to Sticky Fingers in Little Rock and The Joint in North Little Rock. The line-up includes more than 40 films from 7 different countries. Highlights include returning LRFF alum Bernardo Britto's Sundance Award winning animated short Yearbook, and Moon Molson's powerful film The Bravest, The Boldest.

LRFF Music Film Series Presents – Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me

The almost monthly Little Rock Film Festival music film series presents a screening of “Nothing Can Hurt Me”, a documentary film about the legendary rock band Big Star. In attendance will be the original Big Star member and drummer, Jody Stephens for a short introduction and a very special Q and A after the film. When: Friday, May 2nd, 7 p.m. Where: CALS Ron Robinson Theater Tickets are $5. LRFF2014 Introduces Student Pass for $75 (Half price Silver Pass)

This year the Little Rock Film Festival is offering current college students a special ‘Student Pass‘ which is equivalent to the LRFF Silver Pass (Access to all Screenings, Panels and Parties.) at just $75.
