About The Festival
The Little Rock Film Festival takes place annually in the middle of the beautiful Arkansas springtime weather. Based in Little Rock’s downtown Historic District on the banks of the Arkansas River, the festival showcases the documentaries, features, and short films from around the World, as well as parties, special panels, and youth programs.
In 2007, in the festival’s very first year, the LRFF hosted the Arkansas premiere of the summer blockbuster Knocked Up, which went on to earn more than 150 million dollars at the box office after its Little Rock showing. The LRFF was also proud to show premieres of the extraordinary Iranian film Offside, Philip Haas’s The Situation, and the award winning documentaries Little Birds from Japan, and the Sundance Film Festival winner WarDance set in Africa.
Founded in 2005 by Little Rock natives Brent and Craig Renaud, Owen Brainard and Jamie Moses, the festival pays special focus to Arkansas filmmakers, dedicating a venue and a complete program to their work. Further, the LRFF is committed to partnering with local organizations and businesses in continuing the growth and development of Downtown Little Rock and making the LRFF a World-Class film and cultural event. |
