LRFF2014 Announces Closing Night Film: Devil’s Knot

              The Little Rock Film Festival 2014 is proud to announce it’s Closing Night Film: Devil’s Knot Directed by Academy Award® nominee Atom Egoyan and starring Resse Witherspoon and Colin Firth, Devil’s Knot is based on the nonfiction book about the West Memphis 3 trial by award-winning Arkansas author Mara Leveritt. LRFF2014 Announces World Shorts Competition Lineup

                Today the Little Rock Film Festival announces the line-up in an expanded World Shorts Competition. Long one of the festival’s most popular sections utilizing alternative venues; the 2014 competition curated by LRFF Programmer Justin Nickels, moves to Sticky Fingers in Little Rock and The Joint in North Little Rock. The line-up includes more than 40 films from 7 different countries. The almost monthly Little Rock Film Festival music film series presents a screening of “Nothing Can Hurt Me”, a documentary film about the legendary rock band Big Star. In attendance will be the original Big Star member and drummer, Jody Stephens for a short introduction and a very special Q and A after the film. When: Friday, May 2nd, 7 p.m. Where: CALS Ron Robinson Theater Tickets are $5. All concessions inside the theater are $1 Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me is a feature-length documentary film about the dismal commercial failure, subsequent massive critical acclaim, and enduring legacy of pop music’s greatest cult phenomenon – Big Star Jody Stephens is an American drummer, who has played in Big Star (with Alex Chilton of the Box Tops) When not on tour with Big Star, he works at Ardent Studios in Memphis TN, which is where Big Star has recorded all of their albums. After the deaths of Chris Bell in 1978, and both Alex Chilton and Andy Hummel in 2010, Stephens is the last surviving original member of the group. Little Rock Film Festival 2014 Passes Are Now Available Online

It’s that time of the year again, when filmmakers, film fans and film buffs get together for a week’s screening of films, events, panels, workshops and of course parties. The LRFF2014 is almost here. This year LRFf2014 be a week long event held May 12-18, 2014 with the CALS Ron Robinson Theater, LRFF’s flagship new home, as our main venue. As we line up our programming and get ready for LRFF2014, we are proud to announce that passes to LRFF2014 are now available online HERE for you to purchase and to get your seats booked to this year’s event. We promise it will be nothing like ever before. The pass structure and price remains the same as our previous years. However, this year we have added a new Student Pass, for all our student film buffs and filmmakers, that basically gives all students a Silver Pass Access to LRFF for half the price. All passes purchased online must be collected in person at the Box Office upon display of purchase receipt.
