Big Slate of films from 2009 Festival get release
I know we’ve been talking a lot about select films getting releases, but it’s truly one of the greatest feelings as a filmmaker to hear the words “theatrical distribution.” Amazingly this year we’ve had six films so far from our 2009 program hit the big screens.
Goodbye Solo
Downloading Nancy
The Way We Get By
Herb and Dorothy
Died Young, Stayed Pretty
Kassim The Dream
If we’re missing some or if you hear any news of of this year’s great program getting releases please comment! We are very proud of all of the filmmakers and we ask that you beg your local theaters to show these films upon wide releases.

Herb and Dorothy doc sees release soon
Among the news of fellow LRFF alumni War Eagle getting distribution we have news of another theatrical exhibition with Herb and Dorothy, the lovely documentary about “the extraordinary story of Herbert Vogel, a postal worker, and Dorothy Vogel, a librarian, who managed to build one of the most important contemporary art collections in history with very modest means.”
According to their website more screenings are coming to other major cities throughout the U.S.
