War Eagle this Friday
Let me reiterate, it is very important that we get everyone we know to go out and see War Eagle. It’s in limited release right now and whether it gets a wider release or not depends on how well it does in select cities. Sadly film distribution and exhibition is a numbers game and no matter how much awards or critical praise the film gets, only box office receipts will determine its destiny.

Herb and Dorothy doc sees release soon
Among the news of fellow LRFF alumni War Eagle getting distribution we have news of another theatrical exhibition with Herb and Dorothy, the lovely documentary about “the extraordinary story of Herbert Vogel, a postal worker, and Dorothy Vogel, a librarian, who managed to build one of the most important contemporary art collections in history with very modest means.”
According to their website more screenings are coming to other major cities throughout the U.S.

War Eagle coming to theaters!
Thankfully Little Rock Film Festival’s last year Made in Arkansas winner is getting its highly anticipated release. Empire Film Group is premiering the film at the Malco Theater in Fayetteville June 11th to benefit United Cerebral Palsey. War Eagle was of course the opening night film at our festival in our 2nd year and after winning the Made in Arkansas award the film continued on to win numerous awards at festivals across the country (Best Picture Awards: Connecticut Film Festival; Bayou City Inspirational Film Festival; Harvest Moon Film Festival; Northampton International Film Festival; Illinois Film Festival; Red Rock Film Festival; Savannah Film Festival; Sacramento Film Festival; Schweitzer Lakedance Film Festival; Southern Winds Film Festival).
War Eagle can be seen theatrically starting June 12th in the following cities and theaters: Little Rock, Arkansas, Rave Motion Pictures; Rogers, AR – Malco Towne Theater; Fayetteville, AR – Malco Razorback; Memphis, Tennessee – Ridgeway Four. Other cities such as Jonesboro and Ft. Smith will be announced soon. Check the blog for updates.
Eric Parkinson, CEO of Distribution for Empire has this to say about the film:
We are very pleased to have been selected by the producers to handle the theatrical and home video release of this film festival favorite. There is tremendous enthusiasm throughout the state of Arkansas, due to local themes and locations, and we feel that our theatrical expansion will benefit from this platform launch.
Let’s all show our support by getting our friends and family to go out and see this great film. Beside warranting a nation-wide release, your attendance will remind people that the Little Rock Film Festival encourages and supports great films and Arkansas produces them.
