Little Rock Film Festival presents the Argenta Film Series screening of JFK – an Oliver Stone film, March 28th, 7pm at the Argenta Community Theatre. Seats are limited so make sure to reserve your tickets by RSVPing at lrff.eventbrite.com Starring Kevin Costner, Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Oldman and Kevin Bacon, JFK is about a New Orleans DA who discovers that there’s more to the Kennedy assassination than the official story and takes it upon himself to investigate the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas, in 1963. Garrison is extremely suspicious of the official story presented by the FBI, and what he already knows and what he subsequently learns lead him to suspect that there is more to the story than the public is being told. The screening is part of a series of events planned corresponding with the display of “JFK 50 Years Later,” an archival photography exhibition to be held March 25-30 in North Little Rock’s Argenta Arts District. The exhibition, which includes more than 100 photos that have never or rarely been seen, focuses on various aspects of the life and times of President John F. Kennedy in honor of the 50th anniversary of his death. Another event to watch out for that week March 27th is “Shooting JFK a conversation with photographer Willie Allen”. LRFF’s Argenta Film Series presents 2011 Academy Award winning – Best Documentary Feature – Undefeated, Feb 21st, 7pm. Argenta Film Series Presents: The American Scream

Michael Stephenson, the director of the critically-acclaimed documentary Best Worst Movie, will be in town to present his newest documentary The American Scream on October 18th at 7 p.m. at the Argenta Community Theater. The film is family friendly and is guaranteed to get you in the mood for Halloween.  The American Scream is an unconventional look at the Halloween cultural phenomenon of homemade haunted houses and the enthusiasts behind the scenes. Argenta Film Series kicks off with Warrior Champions on August 16th at 7 p.m.

With the Olympic Games in full swing, the Argenta Film Series will have a special screening of the film Warrior Champions, a documentary that follows the first injured Iraq war veterans to compete in the Paralympic Games. After losing limbs in combat, these soldiers are able to turn nightmares of war into Olympic dreams. Wounded Iraq War Veteran Anthony Smith, Mark Leonard from Arkansas Freedom Fund, Producer Vincent Insalaco, and Director Craig Renaud will be in attendance. April 26: Producer Taylor Feltner to present Award Winning Doc Just Like US

For Immediate Release General Press Inquiries Contact: Mallory Nickels, (479) 880-6936 Mallory@Littlerockfilmfestivial.org Argenta Film Series to Screen Award Winning Documentary from Arkansas Native Little Rock, AR– The Little Rock Film Festival and Argenta Arts Foundation are presenting a screening of the documentary feature film, Just Like Us, April 26th at 7p.m.  at the Argenta Community Theater as part of the Argenta Film Series. Arkansas native and film producer, Taylor Feltner, will be in attendance and will be available for question and answer after the screening. The documentary features Egyptian-American comedian Ahmed Ahmed along with a host of critically acclaimed international stand-up comedians. It documents their attempts to correct cultural misconceptions about Middle Eastern cultures through contemporary stand-up comedy. Variety Magazine described the film as “funny [and] thoughtful,” and The Hollywood Reporter said it was “fast, funny and light on its feet.” Feltner, and Arkansas native, holds a B.F.A. from the Florida State University College of Motion Picture, Television and Recording Arts. He began his work in Los Angeles for the documentary film company Allentown Productions under Emmy- and Oscar-winning filmmaker James Moll. Tickets Here. The Little Rock Film Festival’s (LRFF) and Argenta Arts Foundation’s Argenta Film Series (AFS) presents an evening with award-winning designer and lifestyle expert, P. Allen Smith, and filmmaker, Gerry Bruno, Thursday, March 22 at the Argenta Community Theater. Smith and Bruno will discuss the making of their Youtube channel devoted to home, gardening and design, eHow Home. They will also discuss Smith’s acclaimed garden shows and how online media outlets’ emergences are changing the face of television production. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. eHow Home debuted on Youtube in January and focuses on Smith’s production of a green home and garden from start to finish. The channel is part of an effort by Google to produce exclusive content available only online. Smith is the host of two acclaimed gardening television shows (P. Allen Smith’s Garden Home and P. Allen Smith Gardens) and regularly contributes to NBC’s Today Show and The Weather Channel.
