“Crawford hits DVD and Hulu.com

crawford_header_dvdLittle Rock Film Festival 2008 official selection “Crawford” was released on DVD this week. It also became the first-ever feature film premiere on the ad supported streaming service Hulu.com.

The award-winning documentary looks at the tiny town of Crawford, Texas and how its world gets shaken when George W. Bush buys a ranch there. It premiered at South by Southwest and played Little Rock a few weeks later.
If you missed it at the festival, check it out on Hulu here. Or if you have some extra cash, pick up the DVD.

Herb and Dorothy doc sees release soon

Among the news of fellow LRFF alumni War Eagle getting distribution we have news of another theatrical exhibition with Herb and Dorothy, the lovely documentary about “the extraordinary story of Herbert Vogel, a postal worker, and Dorothy Vogel, a librarian, who managed to build one of the most important contemporary art collections in history with very modest means.” 


Herb and Dorothy which received two packed-house screenings at the 2009 Little Rock Film Festival will now show in New York City, Friday June 5th at the  Beekman Theatre and Cinema Village. 


According to their website more screenings are coming to other major cities throughout the U.S.

LRFF Alumni News – Peter McCarthy


LRFF Alumn Peter McCarthy, the director of Flight or Fight has co-produced the film Loss which is Lithuania’s pick for best foreign language film at this year’s Oscars. Fight or Flight was one of our most watched films at the Second Anuual LRFF. Loss is directed by Maris Martinsons.

Jo’s Town Screening at Clinton School of Public Service
