LRFF Announces New Film Series Beginning Fall 2014

LRFF Announces New Film Series Beginning Fall 2014

The Little Rock Film Festival announced today, the first in a new series of film programs to take place at the CALS Ron Robinson Theater in downtown Little Rock beginning this fall. LRFF Artistic director Brent Renaud says “the first series, curated by programmer Levi Agee, will launch on September 14, 2014, and will feature cult-crowd pleasers on the second Sunday of each month. The screenings will be accompanied by a special event catered to each film”. The premiere film for the screening series is the beloved Wes Anderson comedy ‘Rushmore’ starring Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, and Olivia Williams. Agee notes that although Anderson has many great films to choose from, Rushmore felt like the perfect fit given the film’s “nostalgic back-to-school atmosphere and exceptional soundtrack.” Before the film a special concert of local musicians will perform tracks that appear in Rushmore and some of Anderson’s other work in an homage to the director’s musical tastes. Some of the musicians scheduled to perform a selection of unique covers are Philip Huddleston, Isaac Alexander, Aaron Saarlo, Collin Buchanan and other special guests. Details: When: Sunday, September 14, 2014, at 4 p.m. Where: CALS Ron Robinson Theater (100 River Market Ave in Little Rock). Tickets: Tickets for the event are $8 and can be purchased at the box office the night of the show.
