LRFF is looking for two Marketing Assistants to join their #LRFF2014 team

If you are a marketing student/professional or an aspiring filmmaker looking to learn the workings of the film festival business or if you simply love films, here is your chance to be a part of it all with the Little Rock Film Festival. As we kick planning into high gear in preparation for LRFF2014, the LRFF is looking for two self motivated individuals to join our marketing team. Positions open: Marketing Assistants This is a volunteer position. There is no monetary compensation provided. Both positions will have staff level access to all film/events/panels and parties during the festival.  The LRFF will be held May 13-18, 2014 in downtown Little Rock. Roles and Responsibilities include: Identify bloggers/leaders and influencers and reach out to them with opportunities to engage with LRFF. Work with Marketing Mangers to establish social media strategy, timelines and best practices. Manage social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Flickr, YouTube) and editorial calendar to ensure content is approved and released on time. Maintain and manage the LRFF email newsletter base and create and send daily e-newsletters to LRFF subscribers and other adhoc emails as required during and leading up to the festival. Ensure accuracy of all outgoing emails and messages. Manage and curate daily editing of LRFF’s Homepage and recent news section. Qualifications: Ability to take initiative, employ good judgment, and manage projects from beginning to end. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Exceptional eye for details. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and to deal with various departments seamlessly. The third annual Little Rock Horror Picture Show will be March 20-23. This year the festival is teaming up with the Arkansas Food Bank to “Take a Bite out of Hunger” because going hungry is a scary thing for too many families and children in the state of Arkansas. If you bring three or more non-perishable food items when you purchase tickets to LRHPS you’ll get $5 off the price of one full pass or $3 off the price of one day pass. LRFF programmer Levi Agee has a strong passion for comedy.  For this year’s Little Rock Horror Picture Show he has coordinated some special comedy events that include a special performance from Red Octopus Theater at the opening night festivities. This is a can’t miss event! Mockingbird Don’t Screen is the state’s only live comedic movie commentary troupe akin to Mystery Science Theater or Rifftrax. Mockingbird debuted years ago at the Little Rock Film Festival hosted by programmer Levi Agee and joined by members of Improv Little Rock, this time around the act will feature comedians Jason Thompson and Michael Brown in addition to riff master Agee. “I’m super pumped to bring back Mockingbird Don’t Screen back from the dead for the horror festival in addition to seeing Red Octopus perform opening night,” said Agee. “Aside from the amazing films the entertainment is top notch.” Mockingbird Don’t Screen will perform Saturday evening following Sound of the Mountain’s Live Score of...

The Little Rock Film Festival prides itself in providing educational opportunities for filmmakers from Arkansas and around the world. This year the Little Rock Horror Picture Show is continuing that tradition with three amazing panels. First we will be having a panel on acting featuring actors Brook Butler, Laurel Vail (Delivery) and Tom Williamson. They’ll discuss what it takes to be an actor today, what it is like to break into the industry amongst other topics. Perfect for anyone interested in becoming an actor. Second we will be having a panel on writing and directing with filmmakers Zack Parker (PROXY), Adam Schindler (writer of Delivery), and LRHPS alums Chad Crawford Kinkle (Jug Face) and Eric England (Madison County, Roadside). And third we will have a panel on special effects and movie makeup featuring local special effects artists Les Galusha and Stormy Marie.
