The 48 Hour Film Project is back!

So you think you can make a film in 48 hours? If you are the creative out of the box thinker, who loves the adrenaline and thinks it’s possible to round up some friends or like-minded people for a weekend of movie making competition, then look no further. Co-sponsored by the Little Rock Film Festival, the 48HFP returns to Little Rock this August 16th– 18th So register now as they begin accepting early bird registrations. The 48HFP is a wild and sleepless weekend in which you and your team have to write, shoot, edit and score a movie in just 48 hours. On August 16th, you will be assigned a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre that MUST be included in the movie. Whatever you do in the next 48 hours is upto you. We just need the film submitted to us on Sunday August 18th by 7.30pm. Your film will be screened a local theater (Bank of America Building, 4th Floor, 200W Capitol Ave, Little Rock, AR). The winning film from Little Rock will go up against films from around the world to compete for the title “Best 48 Hour Film of 2013” Early bird registrations are being accepted. Teams must register on or before Monday, July 22 to avail the special rate of $140. Regular registration is $160. If teams register after Tuesday, August 6 they must pay a rate of $175. 3rd Annual Little Rock Horror Picture Show to Open Submissions on July 1st

Little Rock, AR – The 3rd annual Little Rock Horror Picture Show is slated for March 21-23rd, 2014 and will be hosted at the Little Rock Film Festival’s new flagship theater, the Arcade Theater. The Little Rock Horror Picture Show has had two successful years featuring films such as Eric England’s Madison County and Roadside, Chad Crawford Kinkle’s Jug Face, and Don Thacker’s Motivational Growth. The festival showcases the best in genre films from around the world every spring as a part of the Little Rock Film Festival’s year round programming. Submissions for the 3rd annual festival will be open starting July 1st with the early bird deadline ending August 15th. As with all of the Little Rock Film Festival’s events Arkansas made submissions will be free to submit. Full length features as well as short films in the horror, science fiction, fantasy genres as well as animated films are all eligible to submit. “Not only will we show the best genre films from around the world, we will also show the best horror and sci-fi films from Arkansans that the world needs to see,” said festival director Justin Nickels. “The Little Rock Horror Picture Show continues the excellence the Little Rock Film Festival brings to Arkansas every year.” Submissions will be open from July 1, 2013 until January 15, 2014.
