A huge week is coming up in our continued mission to push forward the quality of our year round programming at the Little Rock Film Festival. On Thursday night Feb 16 join LRFF programmer Levi Agee at the Argenta Film Series, for a screening of the narrative feature film The Wise Kids, followed by a discussion with Actress Sadieh Rifai. All Argenta Film Series events begin at 7pm and take place at the Argenta Community Theater. Tickets for The Wise Kids are available here.
Following The Wise Kids screening join us for the Pre-Little Rock Horror Picture Show Opening Party at The White Water Tavern. And then this weekend, LRFF programmer, Justin Nickels along with assistant programmer Mike Ledford have put together a World class program of horror genre films for the first annual Little Rock Horror Picture Show All LRHPS screenings take place at the Market Street Cinema. Little Rock Film Festival Presents a Night of Entertainment
Little Rock, ARK- The Little Rock Film Festival (LRFF) and the Argenta Arts Foundation (AAF) will screen TheWise Kids Thursday, February 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the Argenta Community Theater as part of the Argenta Film Series. One of the film’s stars, stage and screen actress Sadieh Rifai, will be present and LRFF programmer, Levi Agee, will moderate a Q&A with Rifai following the screening. The event will be followed by a party at Whitewater Tavern to kickoff the Little Rock Horror Picture Show (LRHPS).
The Little Rock Horror Picture Show is a weekend-long mini horror festival which will take place at Market Street Cinema February 17th- 19th. “Little Rock has really needed a horror festival for a while now, there’s definitely a market for it, “ LRHPS festival coordinator, Justin Nickels said, “and the LRFF is really excited to be the ones making it happen.” The LRHPS will screen 9 feature length films and 16 shorts from around the world.
The Wise Kids, directed by Stephen Cone, is a feature film set in and around Charleston, South Carolina and deals with questions of faith and friendships. It follows the lives of Brea, an introspective pastor’s daughter experiencing debilitating doubt; the hyperactive Laura, Brea’s best friend and a devout believer; and Tim, the open-hearted son of a single father, confronting his homosexuality for the first time.
